W7 12 Piece Makeup Brush Set | Review

Hello, happy Monday to you all!

Today I have a review of a makeup brush set and a blusher from the makeup brand W7, I have used there products before and even done a review not so long ago, so I am back with my second W7 review.

The brush set I got came in a lovely roll up brush pouch/holder, as well as the brush set, I received a blusher which I have been testing out.

I have heard from a lot of people say that these blushers are suppose to be, or are similar to the Benefit blushers/bronzers due to the packaging and maybe even the names of each blusher? I'm not sure as I haven't owned a Benefit blusher to know what they're like.

First of all, lets talk about the blusher. This blusher was very hard to swatch as it is a very light shimmer and doesn't show up very well on my 'not so great' camera. I like this blusher but it doesn't show up very well, unless you add a few layers, therefore I wouldn't recommend using it as a bronzer. Its a nice colour for my pale skin as its not to dark or orange but I had to be careful when wearing it, as I'm so pale that if I had to much shimmer on my cheeks it would really stand out. I love the brush that came inside this blusher, its great for contouring with a powder and comes free with the blusher, so I cant complain. I prefer a matte cheek colour, whether it be a bronzer or blusher, but I think this blusher could look great as a highlighter for the cheekbones, as long as you know when to stop!
Oh and the packaging is super cute!

This is the very pretty brush set I received, I would recommend it to anyone who is just starting to wear or collect makeup products. Brushes can be very expensive these days, and seeing that some brushes can go up to £40 for one, makes me almost have a heart attack, there's just no need! I love finding a good bargain brush, or in this case, bargain brush set!

I have to be completely honest and say that there is one brush which I am disappointed with, but apart from that, all the other brushes work great. The only concern I have with the rest of the brushes are that the bristles sometimes fall off onto my face, so I have to keep checking that I've got them off before going out!

These three brushes are my favourite from the set, there all eye brushes but in small, medium and large. Its so handy to have a variety of sizes to choose from as I use the smallest brush for my crease and the biggest brush to do a base colour, I sometimes use the medium brush to apply my transition colour. I love the black matte handles as they look very classy and neat. The logo is on every brush handle which is handy as I have so many brushes which look so similar to these. The bristles on these brushes do not fall out, as far as I know. I have used these three brushes so much lately and I haven't even had them that long, that's how much I love them!

This is the brush I am least impressed with, I'm not sure if its meant to be an eyeliner brush or just an angled eye brush, by the roughness of the bristles I don't think it would be suitable to apply eye shadow products. Non of the brushes are labelled as to what the brush is for, so I am just guessing that its a gel eyeliner brush. The bristles are so rough and the brush is not thin enough to be able to apply eyeliner accurately.

Altogether I am happy with these products, however, I think there colour be room for improvement, although for a £12.95 brush set, it does the job!

Thank you so much for reading and feel free to click here to have a look at the W7 website.

Shu Uemura - Shupette Collection | Silk Cushion Cheek Blush

Ever heard that Karl Lagerfeld has a much loved cat that goes by the name of 'Choupette'? - Neither did I until now.

I recently had the chance to try out a makeup product from the new Shu Uemura collection named 'Shupette'. I have heard of the brand Shu Uemura a lot before, however, never really looked into the brand and what they had to offer, until now. .
Shu Uemura have recently done a wonderful collaboration with the one and only Karl Lagerfeld, to come up with a limited edition Holiday makeup collection. I only realised when researching more about the cat theme, that the cat featured in this collection, is indeed Karl Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette.
I saw the collection online by coming across this picture. . .

Then when I saw the actual products, I fell in love with the cat theme and absolutely stunning packaging, I had to try out an item from the collection for myself.

I tried and tested a blusher which caught my eye immediately, as I have very pale skin, I knew this colour would look amazing on me, without making me look like a clown or human wotsit.
The blusher is in the shade 'Orange', which is a very plain name for such a high end product, however, you don't need a fancy name for this product, the packaging and design is fancy enough.

This Silk Cushion Blush has a very strange texture to say the least, whilst at the same time, a heavenly texture which feels like your stroking Karl Lagerfeld's cat itself. As described on the description from the Shu Uemura website, this blusher is said to have a 'marshmallow-like formula'. When I first saw this product, I thought it was a powder blush, as it looked like powder, but when touching it, it felt more creamy than powdery, sort of a mix in-between the two.
I did try applying this product to my face with an angled cheek brush, yet, it didn't apply whatsoever, not even onto the brush. I ended up using my fingers to apply it and then the brush to blend it in, which worked better.

I was right by thinking this product would work well with my pale complexion, it worked a treat and will become my new favourite cheek/blush product now. I love wearing bronzer, although with pale skin, it can make me look orange. This product is a lovely light orange tone, giving me a more natural glow, the Shupette Silk Cushion Cheek blush is PURRRRRRRRRRFECT - Thank you KL  !

Cheeky Lip & Cheek Tint | Review

Good afternoon. I know its been a while since I last blogged but im back with a review from a company I now love. This company is called 'Cheeky', and they sell freshly scented products across body care, hair care and cosmetics, they also have a NEW parlour open in Shoreditch, East London.

I was lucky enough to win one of there competitions over on my personal Twitter account and they sent me a cosmetic bag full of goodies, so thank you Team Cheeky.

I have only tried a few products so far, but there's two products which I am loving...
I am a huge lipstick lover and when I discovered that Team Cheeky had put, not one, but two lip and cheek tints in my cosmetics bag, my eyes lit up. I have never tried a lip and cheek tint before but have always wanted to. After trying these two products, I will defiantly be on the look out for more in the future.

I tried the shades 'Fire Starter' and 'Posey Rosey' out, and before even testing them on my lips or cheeks, I immediately noticed how bright both colours were and knew that they must be super pigmented.

I struggle to find a suitable shade of pink when choosing a lip product, as I have very pale skin and sometimes pinks can make me look to 'in your face' or like I've applied foundation to my lips (if I were to go for a nude pink). This particular shade of pink worked really well for my skin tone, however, I haven't tried it on my cheeks yet but im sure it will suit my complexion great.
The red lip and cheek tint also worked very well with my skin tone, both on my lips and cheeks, however I did find it quite hard to blend in the cheek tint but im sure it will just take some getting use of, to figure that out.

Here are the results of both products when applied to my lips..

This shade of pink works perfect with my skin tone, giving my lips a pop of colour and not making me look like a clown at the same time. The awesome thing about these lip and cheek tints are that you can have the colour as natural or as bright as you want by applying less for a hint of colour or more for a vibrant colour. This shade will be amazing in summer, therefore I will try my hardest not to use it all up before then (which could be a struggle, *wink face*).

I was very impressed with this shade, I wouldn't have thought that a crème lip tint would add much colour to my lips, maybe a little gloss, but not very bright, but boy was I wrong. This shade applies just as bright as a normal lipstick and has a super soft texture when using my fingers to apply the product to my lips or cheeks.
In this picture I am wearing Fire Starter as a cheek tint as well, and as you can see, this shade does wonders for my pale skin. I can never wear to much bronzer, if any at all, due to me being so pale, that the bronzer just looks to orange; therefore this product will be great in summer as well as winter to add a hint of colour to my face, which is very much needed.

Altogether I love these lip and cheek tints, they sell for £10 each which is a bargain as they should last you a long time, and the case comes with a mirror attached so you can carry these with you in your handbag for on the go. I really would recommend the lip and cheek tints to anyone who is mega pale like myself (I am wearing foundation in the pictures, but without makeup im a lot more paler). There a great way to look glamorous without looking to over the top, and the packaging is so cute.
