Joan Collins - Timeless Beauty

Hi everyone, sorry its been a while, my life has never been so busy!
Its nice to finally be able to sit down for a few hours and write for you lovely people.

 

Today I am reviewing a lipstick and lip liner from the Joan Collins - Timeless Beauty collection.

I have never really known much about Joan Collins herself, however, by seeing pictures of her and seeing her on television, I know she has such a wonderful, classy and elegant sense of style. If I look as timeless as her when im her age, I will be a very happy lady. Anyway, moving on..

 

I am so mega impressed with the products I was sent to review.

 

 

This lipstick is 'to die for'. The lipstick case is incredible, in fact, its quite heavy

 a heavy case. I have never seen such beautiful packaging and the gold casing makes this lipstick look like its worth a million dollars! I have had so many positive comments on this lipstick, from the packaging to the colour itself.

 

This shade is heavenly, I love bright lip colours, as long as they don't give the 'im trying to look like a Barbie doll' impression. I don't own a lot of pink lippies, as I prefer nude and red tones as they suit my fair skin better; however this colour really goes well with my pale complexion and gives my face a pop of colour without it looking to over the top! I wear this lipstick to work everyday more or less and it stays on so well!

 

The only negative this I can say about this product is that it tends to bleed quite easy onto the top of my lip and isn't easy to take off without a makeup wipe.

 

The price range of these lipsticks are £18 from the official website ( JoanCollinsBeauty ) which I think is reasonable for a high end, good quality beauty product, which will last you a long time.

 

 

Onto the lip liner. Oh my goodness, I am loving this lip liner, not only is it super pigmented when applied onto the lip, it has a double sided brush that you can use to blend in any lip product or the lip liner. This brush is super soft and sturdy so it will give you an accurate blend. I think this is such a handy idea and its like getting a makeup brush for free, which im sure every makeup geek would love!

 

 

This shade is a lot lighter than the lipstick, however I don't think it is suppose to match the shade of the lipstick, but that's fine as I have a few lip sticks already that would go great with this liner. The black and gold design is so classic and gives the product an expensive, high quality look to it.

 

The price of this lip liner is £12 from the official website, which I think is amazing to say you get the brush on the opposite end.

 

I am so impressed with these products and would highly recommend them to anyone any age, and that's the good thing, this collection is suitable for a variety of ages!

 

The colours are so pigmented, even one swipe and it gives a super intense look. You could also dress these colours up or down, for a casual day or a fancy night out.

Kiss Cosmetics | Lip Vinyl

Happy Saturday everyone!

I have some exciting news for you all...  there is a new cosmetics brand that are mega close to launching and I am here to tell you about one of there products which will be available to purchase online from the 6th May at kisscosmetics.co.uk.

Before I get into the review, let me tell you a bit about this brand..

Kiss Cosmetics are an Essex based cosmetics brand which are due to launch their website in just 4 days time! This new brand is cruelty free which is always a bonus and they have some great products which im sure will sell out in no time, so if your a makeup lover like myself, have a read about one of their products I was lucky enough to try out before the launch!

I tried a product called Lip Vinyl, which to me is heaven in a tube, it is a liquid lipstick. I love the idea of a liquid lipstick, as there's a lot of lipsticks I've tried which can be very drying on the lips, so this product makes sure you get the high pigmented colour as well as a glossy shine. Another awesome thing about this product is that KISS Cosmetics do a lipstick range and the Lip Vinyl colour shades match their KISStick lipsticks perfectly, so you could use both of them together to create an even more bold look!

 (The RRP price from the Lip Vinyl's are £7.00).

The shade I received is 'Naked Pink'. I love this shade so much, they couldn't have sent me a better shade, I love that this Lip Vinyl is a bright pink shade but not to bright that the colour looks like that tacky 'Barbie Pink', its a classy version!

The packaging is beautiful, I am really impressed with the logo design, font and colours of the packaging, its very simple, making it look like a high quality product, which it most definitely is!

As for the product itself, I am amazed by the bright pigmented colour that shows up once applied, I wasn't very convinced before trying this Lip Vinyl that it would appear very well and would be more of a lip gloss than a lipstick, but it really does work and is perfect for anyone looking for a lip product that gives a natural finish.

The texture is a tad bit to much for me, in the sense that its a bit heavy on the lips, but it is a liquid lipstick after all, so I expected that (I guess its just the fact that I always wear matte lip colours that have no gloss to them and only need a thin layer).



This is what 'Naked Pink' looks like on the lips. As you can see my lips look very natural but with a hint of pink, which I like as it gives my lips some colour and shine.

I am so impressed with how well this shade compliments my skin tone, the paleness of my skin goes well with such a natural looking colour. This product was developed by Kiss Cosmetics to suit every skin tone, and I believe that 100% as I can certainly see this shade suiting anyone of any skin colour.

This product is so handy, due to it being so natural, it could be an everyday product that could be dressed up or down with other makeup products.

Overall I am delighted with the Lip Vinyl's and cannot wait to collect more shades!

W7 Makeup | First Impressions

I have never tried any products from the makeup brand W7, but that all changed this week, and lets just thank god I discovered this brand, W7 sell affordable and high quality makeup, which ticks all my boxes, and today I'm here to review some of there products for you!

 

 

I received all the products above, and immediately I noticed the cruelty free logo on the side of the 'Get Set Eyeshadow base', which made me a very happy bunny, as I am a hugeeeeeee supporter of cruelty free brands. I sometimes buy/order a product without knowing if there products are tested on animals or not, but if that is the case, I will give the product to a family member or friend, therefore, I really try my best to stick to my cruelty free rule!

10 out of 10 Eye Shadow Palette: This palette is amazing for the price, at just £5.95, this palette includes 10 shades that are perfect for anyone. I would highly recommend this palette, but especially to people who are just starting out with makeup and are wanting to build up there collection, as it is affordable and includes a variety of shades.

 

 

 

The top eye colours I would use to create a very dramatic smoky eye, as for the bottom colours, I would use these to go for a more neutral eye look. my favourite colour from this palette is the middle bronze/gold colour on the bottom, to me, this colour works the best and is the most easiest to blend in and build up.

I am not a big fan of the blue and purple shades in this palette, I am not a big fan of blue or purple eye makeup altogether, but these colours just don't seem to blend in as well and take a lot of building up to get the colour pigmented, however the middle top colour (dark grey/black) is okay for working into the crease and is build able. I would rate this palette a 7/10 and will defiantly keep and eye out on the other 10 out of 10 palettes to maybe try out soon.

 

Butter Kiss Lipstick: This lipstick is in the colour red light. I love this lipstick, its got a nice creamy texture to it, however, I would say it could be used as more of a tinted lip gloss, but if you build up onto it, you will be able to create a more pigmented lip colour. The fact this lipstick is more of a lip gloss doesn't change my positive opinion on this product, I still really like this lipstick to create a natural makeup look, but with a bit of colour on the lips. I am very curious to try out the other shades, as I am so impressed with this one. 9/10.

 

 

Catwalk Concealer: This is the most disappointing product of them all, even though the concealer blends in very well and has a nice creamy texture, the shade is way to dark for my pale complexion. This is the lightest shade they do, the colour looks darker in person compared to the photo. This product is not use able for my skin tone, however, I will keep it to use for a day when I have fake tan on and want to apply makeup over the top, as I think this would be more suited to people with more of a tan than my pale self. If this concealer was more lighter, it would be perfect, the product blends in so well and leaves a lovely finish to your skin. 6/10.

 

Get Set Eye Shadow Base: I am loving this product so much, for a drugstore product, it works so well for me. The colour of this eye base is matte white, you can build up the product if you need to but is also great for a thin layer. This product blends in very well, however, my only fault is that it can make the eye shadow a bit more harder to blend in, I would leave the eye base to dry for a few minutes before applying an eye shadow over the top, apart from that, I really do love this product, I use it every time I do my eye makeup now and will defiantly be re-purchasing once I run out! If you are looking for a cheap but good quality eye base, give this a go and it wont let you down! 10/10.

 

I had so much fun trying these products out, I will certainly be trying more W7 products in the future and I hope I have convinced you to take a look to!

Fullips Lip Enhancers | Review

Hi everyone, so good to be back after a busy/stressful week.

 

I have a review that I cannot wait to share with you all, I have been testing out the Fullips lip enhancers, they are a small device which you put over your lips and suck into, its sounds scarier than it actually is!

 

These devices are a temporary lip plumper, therefore, you don't have to go through all the pain of lip injections, use this product and you will have big, beautiful Kylie Jenner lips in no time. These lip plumpers only last a few hours at a time, but trust me there soooo worth giving a try!

 

There are three sizes, but I was lucky enough to be sent all three, thank you Linda!

The sizes include:

Small Oval - For thin lips & targeting (this one can also be used vertically) My favourite!
 

Medium Oval - For smaller, overall mouth size, single or both lips.
 

Large round - For fuller mouths & overall mouth fullness, both lips.

 

Tip: Always use a lip balm before using the lip plumper's, as it creates a smoother surface for suction to be more successful.

 

I have been so desperate to show everyone my results, but have struggled to take photos that I am 100% pleased with, as you can notice the different in my lips a lot better in person and im not great with camera selfies (especially when theres no front camera - Nightmare!)
These products really do work, you have to try them for yourself to see what im talking about!

 

I cannot believe I had the guts to show you my naked skin, for the world to see *hides face*.

These lip plumper's work great for me, the small oval is my 'go to' plumper, personally it sucks my lips in the best and works perfect for my small lips. There is no pain, just a slight tingling sensation afterwards for the first few times you use them, everyone's experiences will be different so I cant say this will happen for everyone. Do not suck to hard when first trying the lip plumper's out as they can bruise, but there is no need to suck to hard, they work fine with a light suction.

I am a big fan of biggggggggggggggggg lips, so these lip plumpers are literally life savers for me! They make my lips look so much better when I apply lip products such as lip liners, lipsticks, lip crayons etc.

There is nothing I can fault with this brand and there products, the lady who sent me these lip plumper's to review, is the sweetest women you will ever speak to and sent me so much useful information within the package I received, to make sure I knew 100% what I was doing; the packaging is also beautiful and very eye catching!

I was sent these all the way from the US, therefore im not sure what shipping is like, but whatever the price, they are certainly worth investing in.

Cheeky Lip & Cheek Tint | Review

Good afternoon. I know its been a while since I last blogged but im back with a review from a company I now love. This company is called 'Cheeky', and they sell freshly scented products across body care, hair care and cosmetics, they also have a NEW parlour open in Shoreditch, East London.

 

I was lucky enough to win one of there competitions over on my personal Twitter account and they sent me a cosmetic bag full of goodies, so thank you Team Cheeky.

 

I have only tried a few products so far, but there's two products which I am loving...

I am a huge lipstick lover and when I discovered that Team Cheeky had put, not one, but two lip and cheek tints in my cosmetics bag, my eyes lit up. I have never tried a lip and cheek tint before but have always wanted to. After trying these two products, I will defiantly be on the look out for more in the future.

 

 

 

 

I tried the shades 'Fire Starter' and 'Posey Rosey' out, and before even testing them on my lips or cheeks, I immediately noticed how bright both colours were and knew that they must be super pigmented.

 

I struggle to find a suitable shade of pink when choosing a lip product, as I have very pale skin and sometimes pinks can make me look to 'in your face' or like I've applied foundation to my lips (if I were to go for a nude pink). This particular shade of pink worked really well for my skin tone, however, I haven't tried it on my cheeks yet but im sure it will suit my complexion great.

The red lip and cheek tint also worked very well with my skin tone, both on my lips and cheeks, however I did find it quite hard to blend in the cheek tint but im sure it will just take some getting use of, to figure that out.

 

Here are the results of both products when applied to my lips..

 

 

This shade of pink works perfect with my skin tone, giving my lips a pop of colour and not making me look like a clown at the same time. The awesome thing about these lip and cheek tints are that you can have the colour as natural or as bright as you want by applying less for a hint of colour or more for a vibrant colour. This shade will be amazing in summer, therefore I will try my hardest not to use it all up before then (which could be a struggle, *wink face*).

 

I was very impressed with this shade, I wouldn't have thought that a crème lip tint would add much colour to my lips, maybe a little gloss, but not very bright, but boy was I wrong. This shade applies just as bright as a normal lipstick and has a super soft texture when using my fingers to apply the product to my lips or cheeks.

In this picture I am wearing Fire Starter as a cheek tint as well, and as you can see, this shade does wonders for my pale skin. I can never wear to much bronzer, if any at all, due to me being so pale, that the bronzer just looks to orange; therefore this product will be great in summer as well as winter to add a hint of colour to my face, which is very much needed.

 

Altogether I love these lip and cheek tints, they sell for £10 each which is a bargain as they should last you a long time, and the case comes with a mirror attached so you can carry these with you in your handbag for on the go. I really would recommend the lip and cheek tints to anyone who is mega pale like myself (I am wearing foundation in the pictures, but without makeup im a lot more paler). There a great way to look glamorous without looking to over the top, and the packaging is so cute.

Halloween makeup look

Hi there, second post in one day, crazy right?

This post is going to be in celebration of halloween, I received a pair of lashes in the post today via Beauty Crowd but made by the company Eldora and thought it was the perfect excuse to do a Halloween makeup look using my lashes. I was so stuck for what halloween character to be, therefore instead of being a character I just did a basic Halloween/bloody face look which turned out better than expected. Here is the final look..

                 

    I was very impressed with how the bloody neck and forehead turned out to look. I used basic makeup products to create this look. I used nude brown tones around the eyes to make my eyelids look dark, tierd and lifeless, lipstick and lip liner was used to create the blood drips and dark vampire lips, black eyeshadow was used to create very dark, dramatic cheekbones, I used eyeshadow around the nose area to add dark shadows and eyebrow powder to make my eyebrows big and beautiful.

The more lip liner and lipstick I added to the blood drips, the more it created a bruised look which also was a great affect.

I have very dark brown eyes, making my eyes look almost black, perfect for Halloween.

Due to my blog not being the most popular one out there, I had no hope that any company would take me seriously and give me a chance, but I was most certainly proved wrong. I sent Sew Lomax a message and it didn't take long for them to reply, they were more than happy for me to do them a review, which is why I am writing this post!

 

Before I start my review, I would like to say thank you to both Sew Lomax for believing in an unknown blogger such as myself and Sale Servant for just being an awesome company and giving up your time to help bloggers connect with brands, which is very much needed!

 

Now onto the review. I was mega lucky to be sent my own PERSONALISED lipstick pouch from Sew Lomax. I had heard of this brand previously, all over the Internet and had always had my eye on their makeup bags, they looked so beautiful and you could tell that they were made with so much love and care, I never thought I would own one myself until now.

I was told that the makeup bag would take an extra 7-10 days to arrive, due to me wanting a personalised message on the back, (making these bags great as a gift for someone or a treat for yourself) and I am very inpatient but eventually it arrived and it was so worth the wait. The amazing thing about these bags is that you can have whatever sentence or word you want on the back, making your makeup bag extra unique and personal. I chose something simple and it turned out to look awesome, here is what I had put on my lipstick pouch..

 

If you thought the back was amazing, wait until you see the front..

 

 

I couldn't be more happier with how my bag turned out, I'm in love with it and get so much use out of it. I didn't notice for a few minutes from opening the box that there was a detachable charm-like accessory on the zipper, which is meant to look like a bobbin (correct me if I'm wrong) which I thought was a great little touch to the whole look.

 

The lipstick design on the front of the pouch is funky, it reminds me of art pop by the simple design, bold colours and thick outline, it is something anyone could try at home, with a sewing machine or by hand. There are a few different designs to choose from, but I had to go with the lipsticks, I am a lipstick addict myself so I couldn't resist. There are also SO many colours to choose from, but as it is summer I wanted to go for a summer colour, and they certainly pulled it off!

 

Everything was so beautifully presented, even down to the box and tissue paper it arrived in. I find it important for a products packaging to be appealing, it attracts me to the product so much more and shows how much work the company puts into every last detail.

 



 

One thing that stands out to me and makes me really respect the people who make these stunning bags are that they are finished by hand, giving each bag an individual and personal look. I know by just looking at how neatly everything is on the bag, from the zip to the design, that the Sew Lomax company really care about making each bag extra special to the customer and must have such a passion for what they do.

I did Textiles at school from year 7 to 9, and then chose it as my year 10 options, and then went on to doing it in sixth form; by learning so many different techniques I know that making just one of these bags much take some effort and time. When I have to do work by hand in the past, I found it difficult to get accurate with whatever I was doing, therefore I am guessing these bags must take some time and patience to complete.

 

So I guess your all wondering, does it fit my lipsticks in?

 

 

Of course it does! In fact I still have room for some more which is a perfect excuse to go lipstick shopping! I think I will be using this bag as an ordinary makeup bag for when I am travelling, but for the time being I will keep my lipsticks sealed up inside, ready for use whenever I need a lippy top up! I hope by the end of the year this bag will be full to the top with lip products!

MUA Cosmetics Haul

Hi Ladies!

Today I have a small haul of makeup to show you, if you are a fan of good quality makeup at cheap prices then read on as this brand is one of the cheapest makeup brands I have come across. The brand is called MUA (Make Up Academy Cosmetics) and is has such a huge variety of products from lipstick to brushes to custom palettes.

These are the three shades I chose to try out and they had there benefits and disadvantages, they are great in the sense that they are very pigmented but the texture however is very much play-doe like, the texture is so dry that I have to more or less everytime use a lip brush to apply the product. However once on your lips the product looks fine and if you find that your lips look dry you can always apply a lipgloss over the top or mix another lipstick in with it which is what I do with the Wild Berry and Scarlet Siren.

As you can see the colours show up pretty impressive and for £1 each you could afford to buy them all and if you dont like them you wont have wasted to much money.

 

Eye Products

 

 

I got two eyeshadows to try out as they were also only £1 each. They are so good for the price they are at, there super pigmented and would suit any skin tone, the Matt eyeshadow is very dark and would create such a dramatic gothic look, as for the Pearl shade this one works ace as a base for your eyeshadow as it highlights the lids making them pop.

 

I do have other products from this brand but haven't had much chance to try them out so I haven't included them, although I will write a couple of sentences about each product and what I think of them so far:

 

Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter - I loved the look of this product but when it came to me I saw that it was far to shimmery for my liking, I have very pale skin so anything shimmery makes me look a bit like an orange clown! I wasn't impressed with that, however if you apply a small amount you can get away with not having to much shimmer to your look. This costs £3.

Pro-Base Prime And Conceal - This product is a concealer for your eyes which gets rid of any redness using the yellow tones that it has, this product is good, I don't really use eye primer a lot so I dont know what to expect but then again I also dont wear a lot of eyeshadow, Mainly only when Im going out. This cost £1.50

F6 Blusher & Contouring Brush - This brush I mainly use for bronzer, blusher and highlighter. I like this brush however its not the best, as I use it for my cheeks and it doesn't blend the product in as well as I would like it to. This cost £3

L1 Lip Brush - This brush is amazing! For the price of the brush its such good quality, its just the right size for my lips and is such a smooth brush. Its a nice shape and keeps its shape no matter how much you use it. It applys lipstick more accuratly and evenly. The cool thing about this brush is that the handle breaks off so that you can use the bottom of it as a lid so you dont get the brush dirty, and its handy to put in your purse! This was only £1.50 and ill happily say it was worth the little amount I paid and I would buy more of them in the future.

 

 

 



collection 2000 | Gothic Glam Collection: Scorned

Hi! I have a tiny review for you all today about a lipstick I purchased this week. As some of you may know I only use cosmetic brands which are cruelty free/against animal testing and when I visit my local supermarket which is Morrisons the only brand they have that I can buy products from is Collection so I have started to buy their products.

I came across a collection from this brand which is called 'Gothic Glam' and its basically different makeup products that are dark colours but still are really pretty. I love purple lipstick so when I came across this one in particular I fell in love. The Gothic Glam lipsticks are only £2.99 although there are only 3 different shades for this collection but at £2.99 each you can't go wrong. Here is a picture of the lipstick I chose called 'Scorned'. I haven't tried this product out on my lips yet due to my lips being very dry so I will try it out when my lips are in better condition therefore I cannot give you much of a review on it, but I did swatch it and the colour is very pigmented.

 

For £2.99 I hope to collect the other two colours to also try out and review. If anyone has the other two shades share with me your opinions on them.

Models Own | Lip Stix

Hey there!
          This morning I went to do the last big of christmas sale shopping. I had a £10 Boots gift card from christmas and I spent it today on a product ive been waiting to try for so long. And TA-DAAAA, I took this opportunity to buy not one but two of the Models Own Lip Stix which are basically chunky lip crayons, they cost £5 each which is a reasonable price.
 Here are some pics of the shades I chose and bought.

 

 I chose these shades as I don't tend to buy many pink lipsticks so I thought ide start off my collection of pink's now. Beauty Blush is such a pretty, barbie like pink and to me it would suit any skin tone. BUT I am such a big fan of purple lip products hence the reason why I bought this lovely lilac shade called Purple Pleasure, It applies a lot lighter than it looks, its almost a pink colour, infact in the picture below it looks very pink. I normally go for dark purples if I am choosing a lip product but im sure I can find ways to make it work!

 

I am obsessed with the texture of these stix, they are so smooth and mositurising, I have used a lot of lipsticks that have been very dry on my lips but these do the complete opposite. I normally apply a base before putting lipstick on such as a lip primer or vasaline to make the surface of my lips smoother for applying lipstick but I didn't have to do it with these.

I would deffinatly by more and may even try to get the whole collection as they are super cheap compared to other cosmetic brands.

when swatched these lipstix look very pigmented.

In Boots at the moment when you buy two or more products from the brand Models Own you get a FREE glitter kit worth £10!!! This made me very happy as I now have the chance to try out Models Own's nail polish which Ive hear a lot of positive things about.
