collection 2000 | Gothic Glam Collection: Scorned

Hi! I have a tiny review for you all today about a lipstick I purchased this week. As some of you may know I only use cosmetic brands which are cruelty free/against animal testing and when I visit my local supermarket which is Morrisons the only brand they have that I can buy products from is Collection so I have started to buy their products.

I came across a collection from this brand which is called 'Gothic Glam' and its basically different makeup products that are dark colours but still are really pretty. I love purple lipstick so when I came across this one in particular I fell in love. The Gothic Glam lipsticks are only £2.99 although there are only 3 different shades for this collection but at £2.99 each you can't go wrong. Here is a picture of the lipstick I chose called 'Scorned'. I haven't tried this product out on my lips yet due to my lips being very dry so I will try it out when my lips are in better condition therefore I cannot give you much of a review on it, but I did swatch it and the colour is very pigmented.

For £2.99 I hope to collect the other two colours to also try out and review. If anyone has the other two shades share with me your opinions on them.

Models Own | Lip Stix

Hey there!
This morning I went to do the last big of christmas sale shopping. I had a £10 Boots gift card from christmas and I spent it today on a product ive been waiting to try for so long. And TA-DAAAA, I took this opportunity to buy not one but two of the Models Own Lip Stix which are basically chunky lip crayons, they cost £5 each which is a reasonable price.
Here are some pics of the shades I chose and bought.

I chose these shades as I don't tend to buy many pink lipsticks so I thought ide start off my collection of pink's now. Beauty Blush is such a pretty, barbie like pink and to me it would suit any skin tone. BUT I am such a big fan of purple lip products hence the reason why I bought this lovely lilac shade called Purple Pleasure, It applies a lot lighter than it looks, its almost a pink colour, infact in the picture below it looks very pink. I normally go for dark purples if I am choosing a lip product but im sure I can find ways to make it work!

I am obsessed with the texture of these stix, they are so smooth and mositurising, I have used a lot of lipsticks that have been very dry on my lips but these do the complete opposite. I normally apply a base before putting lipstick on such as a lip primer or vasaline to make the surface of my lips smoother for applying lipstick but I didn't have to do it with these.
I would deffinatly by more and may even try to get the whole collection as they are super cheap compared to other cosmetic brands.

Top swatch: Purple Pleasure
Bottom Swatch: Beauty Blush
when swatched these lipstix look very pigmented.

In Boots at the moment when you buy two or more products from the brand Models Own you get a FREE glitter kit worth £10!!! This made me very happy as I now have the chance to try out Models Own's nail polish which Ive hear a lot of positive things about.

Comment below if you have tried any other Models Own products that you would or even wouldn't recommend as I will be sure to shop with them again.

Cruelty free/vegan make up brands.

As I am vegetarian and a lover of animals I am against any sort of cruelty towards animals as I think they deserve to be happy just like us humans, animals should be pets not experimented on with a chance of not surviving. I feel very strongly about this and therefore in November I made the decision of chucking all my makeup away and only using products that are not tested on animals. I thought this would be quite hard but once I did my research I found out that a lot of brands are cruelty free, however at the beggining I was struggling to find out whether products were cruelty free or not so I thought to help all you out there who are doing the same thing I would tell you some brands I use and how cruelty free they are, baring in mind that these are just a few and I am not some makeup expert these are just my opinions.

E.L.F Cosmetics- This brand is my all time favourite brand for makeup in general but when I discovered they don't test on animals I was thrilled as that meant I could finally try their products and they are such good quality products without the high price which can always be a pain when you don't have as much money as you would like. E.L.F always have deals on such as 50% off or spend a certain amount and get a free palette. If you are not sure whether to believe me then be sure to check their website out by clicking the link below ---> http://eyeslipsface.co.uk/en/restofworld/help/faq/page/faqs then click on 'Any other questions'

The Body Shop- This is the only brand I can trust 100% as there is not one product in their brand that isn't cruelty free. As well as being cruelty free they also make their products with the intention of protecting the planet therefore you can be sure there products are good in every way. The only down side to this brand is that it's quite on the pricey side, for example I went in a few months ago and I saw a gorgeous vibrant purple lipstick then I saw that it was £10 just for one and I couldn't bare to spend that amount on one product when I could get more for my money else where. I'd hope that because of their expensive prices they are good quality products.

Superdrug- Now this confused me at first as I thought ok well I can now go and buy anything In Superdrug and it will be cruelty free but that's not the case, it's only the superdrug brand that is cruelty free for example I buy makeup wipes/face wipes from the superdrug brand as it has the leaping bunny on the back of the packet. I like the superdrug face wipes as they are not harsh on skin and I have quite sensitive skin when it comes to face wipes but these are really good as you can get fragrance free wipes. Another reason why I like this brand is because they are cheap but good quality. Here is a link to the website --->

Red/plum lip tutorial

I love doing dark lips in the winter and here is how I created my favourite dark lip look. This look is very simple although there are quite a few products involved, it's a super fast look to do so it would be great for if you don't have a lot of time to do your make up.

Products I used:
Elf plump and prime duo
Gosh long lasting lip marker in the shade 003 Berry
MUA matte lipstick in the shade Scarlett Siren
elf Hypershine Gloss in the shade Joy
Elf long wear lip liner in Bitter

How to create this looks:
1. Use the prime side of the elf plump and prime duo. This creates a light tone on your lips which will make the lip colour over the top of the primer more vibrant.
2. Apply the Elf long wear lip liner around the lips, sometimes I apply the lip liner all over my lips which would also create an amazing look.
3. I then went onto using the Gosh lip marker in Berry all over the lips. I wouldn't recommend this lip marker to many people as it is very dry and doesn't stand out very well although I use it if I am going for a more natural dark lip.
4. I next used the MUA lipstick which in my opinion is a very dry lipstick it reminds me a lot of a play doe texture but other than that it applies great. This lipstick will go all over the lip, you can use a lip brush to be more accurate.
5. Apply a thin layer of the Elf hypershine lipgloss, I say thin because this gloss is very thick, unless you create a very shiny lip look then you may apply more but I only like the have a thin layer of gloss.

And your look is finished, I hope this was helpful and please feel free to ask for more tutorials.
